About the Author Jo Ann Harder-Lang, author of Transracial Adoptions: An adoptive mother?s documentary of racism, injustice & joy? has had her poetry published by the National Black Child Development Institute in Washington D.C. Her passion for minority issues took root when she was a small child in Michigan. After several moves across the states, the author lived in Portland, Oregon in a predominantly African American community. In the late 1960?s her love for the people and their culture began. The author along with her husband, Dick have adopted transracially. Because of her involvement with child welfare issues that directly effect black infants and children, she is able to view equality from both sides of the color line. She lives with her husband and son?s in Washington.
